BABYDOLL SHEEP
Olde English Southdown Sheep
-aka "BabyDoll Sheep"
Tilly, Naya & Meadow - our incredible Babydoll sheep.
We started our flock to raise and grow fibre for on-farm workshops and for our community.
Locally grown fibre is so vital for our health and we are driven to make wool valued again for all that it provides us, the land, and the ecosystem.
About our Sheep Breed
Meet the Babydoll Southdown—the only true miniature sheep and the official "mascot" of the small acreage. Standing no taller than 24 inches, these pint-sized wonders are famous for their woolly "teddy bear" faces and a natural expression that looks like a permanent smile.
Beyond their adorable looks, Babydolls are incredibly gentle and non-aggressive. Both rams and ewes are naturally polled (hornless), adding to their easy-going nature.
The Power of the “Woolly Crew”
Our Babydoll Southdown sheep are more than just friendly faces; they are an integral part of our farm’s health. As an ancient, miniature breed, they are natural lawn mowers and "weed” warriors. Their gentle grazing and natural fertilization help us not only maintain, but restore the land without the need for heavy machinery or chemical fertilizers.
They are as practical as they are precious, and we are so grateful to have them apart of our farmstead.
