BABYDOLL SHEEP

Olde English Southdown Sheep
-aka "BabyDoll Sheep"

Meet Tilly, Naya & Meadow - our incredible Babydoll sheep.

We started our flock to raise and grow fibre for workshops at the farmstead and for our community.

Locally grown fibre is so vital to our health and we are driven to make wool valued again for all that it provides us, the land, and the ecosystem.

About our Sheep Breed

Babydoll sheep the only true "miniature" sheep, with their height being a maximum of 24" (2 ft) at the withers. Their trademark woolly "teddy bear" face seems to be stuck in a perma-smile. Their short legs, along with their small size allows them the ability to do well in smaller acreages. Both ewes and rams are polled (have no horns) and are non-aggressive by nature. The ewes are excellent mothers, usually raising twins or even triplets with ease.

Because "Babydoll" Southdowns are an ancient breed, they are not prone to many of the modern sheep problems and are resistant to foot rot. They are also super quiet, eat a lot less than larger breeds.
